If you ask me, out of all the things in the world, I love in a wedding. Which part of wedding? I have two answers for it.

First is the Holy Matrimony when wedding vows are spoken from the heart and the priest gives his holy blessing upon them. The emotional moments when the room is filled with love and prayers, ended by smiles with teary eyes.

Second, is the Grand Entrance on the reception. I love the feeling and the moment when the Prince and the Princess finally enter that door, holding hands, all eyes on them. Everybody adores their beauty, the dress, and respond to their smile and happiness.

Those are the two moments that I am always waiting for whenever I attend a wedding. Well, considering that it’s my job, it’s more like weddings every week now. But although there are lot of weddings I’ve attended (or captured), it has never decreased my interests on these events.

And this is what I expected when I was there to capture Peter and Resy’s wedding. The Holy Matrimony was beautiful and the Grand Entrance was magical! But there was another thing that I’ve never realized I could fall in love with this much. It was the father daughter dance. I have seen this scene so many times in many weddings that I’ve captured here in Jakarta or any parts of the world, but never I’ve seen a moment like this when Resy’s father came to his daughter and started to dance. The dance was so intense. Everybody came to silence to see such a beautiful and touching scene. We know the bond between a father and his daughter is unbreakable. And when it’s time to please Peter dance with her daughter, Resy’s father said a few words that I will never forget.

His father said, “This is the moment that we, your parents, take you to the new beginning of your life, a gate to maturity. If yesterday you walked behind me when I was your leader and protector, now you will walk in front of me, to lead yourself and the new family that you will make with Peter in the future. This is a huge responsibility for you, I know, but with the love that you and Peter have, we know for sure that you will be great. Love is the key to the unlimited greatness in your life, so please keep the love you guys have with your whole heart. Appreciate and respect each other because that is the answer to keep the love alive in your heart.”

In that room, everyone was silent for a moment, including me, immersed with the feeling of that scene. It was more than the magical grand entrance that I saw a couple of minutes before. I was more in love with this scene.

Congratulations Peter & Resy on your wedding and thank you for the priceless experience that you have touched us with in your wedding!

With Love
