There is no place like Japan if you want to enjoy the color of blooming flowers when all the flowers swag at the same time, when the soft wet soil pampers our feet and the wind whispers gently to our ear. And don’t forget about all the festivity when people are so excited celebrating Hanami, where talks and laughter are heard out loud in every corner of the city. When everything brings a good mood, and when suddenly world colored even brighter.

Under all the goodness of spring, still fresh in my mind our session in Japan with this lovely couple. Actually, this session is a surprise gift from Mario for Henny, because she never knew that Mario planned their engagement session to be in Japan. So, we prepared all the things and we were ready to be amused. But at a different time, Mario contacted and told me that he had another surprise for Henny. He wanted to propose her in Japan because all this time it was only his family and her family who talked about their wedding, but he never had the chance to propose her officially and he wanted this will be beautiful and memorable for them, especially for Henny.

So although we had our casual meeting for preparing their prewedding session, we also had another secret meeting with Mario discussing about where and how he would propose her. During our prewedding session, everything was so perfect. The flowers bloomed so beautifully just like how they are supposed to be, and the weather was also so nice. Everything was so perfect at that time. And at the time and the place that we and Mario have discussed before, we arrived at this beautiful tullip garden somewhere in Osaka. Perfectly decorated with an amazing windmill. We all thought there is no other place better than this place to propose a girl.

Finally the time came, when Henny was so amused with the beautiful tullips around her, Mario took out the ring in his pocket, kneeled down and proposed her. Henny never expected Mario would propose her that way, all she did was crying and silenced out of words.

When I wrote this, I just finished watching their video that Steve took when Mario proposed her at that tulip garden. It all came back to me, all the details, the excitement when we were planning this proposal and keep it secret from Henny, the tears (including our makeup artist who just couldn't help it), the happiness it brought, and feeling the love that they have for each other like it was just yesterday. But I realized something, when you are filled with so much love, it’s really okay to give back little surprises to keep it lasts.

Lots of Love
