“Behind a Powerful Man Lies a Stronger Woman”

During President Obama’s term as US President, the first lady Michelle Obama was credited as having a more prestigious CV compared to her husband who was the most powerful man on earth at that time. As most successful man can attest, this is as true as the statement suggests. It is no different for Aldi and Astri.

If you know Aldi before he met Astri, you would never have guessed that this was a guy who had so much guts. After all, Aldi was always known to be a really shy guy amongst his peers. Even Astri can testify that when they first met. Ironically, the first outing they went together, they went to an Escape Room game that was full of scares. Instead of Aldi leading the way and trying to set off the traps to protect the others, he was alongside Astri at the back! And every trap that was set off they both screamed together! It was definitely a funny moment for both, but that day set off a chain of memorable events for them two. 

As time grew, so did Aldi’s bravery and confidence; although it did still require Astri to give a slight push. But behind the scenes, Astri was falling deeply in love with Aldi. Believe it or not, Astri had her whole life plan changed ever since she met Aldi. She even chose to forgo taking her Masters’ Degree overseas because she knew it would be a wiser choice staying here and pursuing a relationship with Aldi. Of course, Aldi did not make her regret this decision for he loved her as much. The culmination of Astri’s constant pestering of Aldi having to have more confidence actually showed during their proposal. It was a proposal that was funny yet memorable. 

The dinner was set in a restaurant that included virtual reality ornaments and shows. Aldi actually prepared everything beforehand and rehearsed his sequence to perfection, but when show time came, the ring that was supposed to melt in front of Astri’s eyes was stuck in the rose covered in ice! To make matters even more awkward was that there was a VR creature that was next to them wriggling as well. Again, before Astri came into his life, Aldi would have turned red and hope for a better chance next time. But not that night; in front of Astri, Aldi was literally a knight in shining armor as he ignored all the stares around them and made sure that the ring came out perfectly from his rose. On the contrary, it was Astri who was blushing after the whole debacle as she quickly said yes. 

From the shy guy that Aldi was, came a knight that was so brave. They say that love can make you a different person, and in this case, Astri really made Aldi into the real knight he is today. After all, behind a powerful man, there’s always a stronger woman driving him forward.
